The Whistler Farmers Market is a registered non profit society dedicated to the promotion of regionally produced foods, crafts and services.
Whistler Farmers Market adhere to the made, baked or grown policy of the B.C. Association of Farmers Markets.
From humble beginnings of one farm and a couple of crafters in the summer of 1994, the market now hosts an average of 90 vendors showcasing fresh fruit, produce, artisan crafts and food products.
The Board of Directors of the Whistler Farmers Market identified “social responsibility” as an important direction for the organization in its 2011 Strategic Plan.
The Whistler Farmers’ Market has historically provided funding for the Whistler Food Bank.
In 2012 we were able to increase their contribution back to the community significantly.
We are able to provide awards to the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation and Fairmont Chateau Whistler Foundation.
The Whistler Food Bank contribution was increased by $2000.
The Pemberton Arts Council received $1000 and the Whistler Arts Council received $500 in cash and $500 in market value.
The Board of Directors has since approved a policy that will see a minimum of $10,000 per year.
This is dedicated to supporting community organizations.
Social responsibility is embedded in the corporate culture of the Whistler Farmers’ Market.
