The Outeniqua Farmers Market opened to the public on Saturday 19 November 2011.
After a journey of two-and-a-half years, and significant investment from local business people.
The five-hectare site lies opposite the Garden Route Mall at the George junction on the N2.
Visitors to the Outeniqua Farmers Market will find more than 150 food and craft stalls.
The ancient name Outeniqua means ‘the land where honey comes from’.
This changed on 19 November 2011 when the Outeniqua Family Market opened, providing a new shopping destination that created a new heart for George.
From that day onwards, Outeniqua is the land where honey, cheese, veggies, pies, cakes, fruit and other delicious foods comes from.
We are open every Saturday from 8am until 2pm.
With more than 150 food and craft stalls, we can guarantee you that there is something for everyone!
We also offer live entertainment, lots of undercover seating, excellent ablution facilities and tons of secure parking.
And for the kids, there’s a Boere train ride, pedal cars, ponycyle rides, face painting, bunnies, sandart and a massive play park!
